There will be five 5 questions on Studied Poetry in 2021, reducing the minimum number of poets to be studied/prepared for the exam to 4.
In the Comparative, students may base their answer on two texts only, in the 70 mark questions solely, if they wish and pick from the three modes on the day of the exam.Previously any two of the three modes appeared on the exam paper.
A minimalist preparation of two comparative texts and one mode is technically allowable, though it is not advisable to cut your choice of question in this way, as the wording or angle of a question may be problematic for any particular student. Some knowledge of all three modes is advantagous in handling exam questions, as well as the required expertise in a specific mode. Our course will ensure that a student is fully versed in all three modes and in the craft of answering the questions.
I really enjoyed the day! Declan and Philip have great notes and I learnt lots! Sarah Purcell Gort Community School March 2020
